AAQ Conference and workshop 2012

The 2012 AAQ Conference and Workshop will be held on the 27th 28th and 29th of July in Brisbane

Our conference and AGM will be held on the Friday and Saturday, incorporating the industry dinner and auction, with an aquaponic workshop on the Sunday.

This year there will be a two day conference followed by an aquaponic workshop on Sunday. Our conference will be on the Friday and Saturday and will incorporate the AGM. The industry dinner will be on the Friday night with a delicious set meal and a licensed bar open till mid night. 

The venue

This years conference will be held in Brisbane at the Wynnum Golf Club on Friday and Saturday the 27th and 28th of July with an Aquaponics workshop to be held on the Sunday, 29th of July.

Established in 1922 the Wynnum Golf Club is located in beautiful Bayside Brisbane and meanders over 31 hectares of picturesque parkland. Since the very early days the Wynnum Golf Club has established itself as a central and vital part of the local community offering more than just a golfing experience.

Prior to the conference on Thursday 26th of July we are holding a social game of golf for those who may have traveled to Brisbane early. So far numbers are around 16 players. Sponsors have provided prizes !! Click for details

Aquaponic Workshop Sunday the 29th July 2012

The one day Aquaponics workshop, held on Sunday the 29th of July will be open to members and non–members. Local hobbyists keen to learn more about this fast growing hobby/industry will benefit from the broad knowledge available from experienced aquaponic system operators, as well as professional advice and knowledge offered by freshwater aquaculturists with decades of experience. Full working systems will be available to see in action with representatives from this industry sharing valuable information to all skill levels. Topics to be covered by a variety of experts will include:

  Importance of Feed Nutrition

  •  Correct choice of fish species and crop
  • System Design
  • Animal Health, Diseases and Bio Security
  • Local and State Legal Implications
